CELPIP (Canadian English Language Proficiency) — Full Explanation

CELPIP General is an alternative to IELTS for Canada PR (Express Entry, PNP, CEC). It is not accepted for most university admissions or for the SDS Study Permit — only IELTS Academic is accepted for SDS. CELPIP is 100% computer-based including the Speaking section (no examiner) — some test-takers find this less stressful than IELTS Speaking. Score equivalency: CELPIP 7 ≈ IELTS 6.0 CLB; CELPIP 9 ≈ IELTS 7.0 CLB.
