Student Life in Toronto

Toronto has over 40,000 Indian students enrolled at colleges and universities. Indian student associations run events at most campuses. Brampton is often called the most South Asian city outside the subcontinent. Part-time work is allowed up to 20 hours/week (off-campus) on the study permit, with full-time work during scheduled breaks.

Visa Information

You need a Canadian Study Permit. Apply via the Student Direct Stream (SDS) for faster processing — requires GIC (Guaranteed Investment Certificate), IELTS ≥6.0, and first-year tuition paid upfront. Regular stream processing is currently 8–16 weeks.
